We are pleased to announce that SPEOS for NX 2014 SP2 is now available!


This version includes complete new functionalities for the creation of 3D Textures, automatic Optimization and Numerical Certification to enhance user productivity.


SPEOS expressions are now available to create multiple configurations for full model control.


The automatic optimization wizard will find the best solution for your opto-mechanical system and brings the right solution in time.


3D Textures allow to handle advanced patterns of millions of microelements in CAD and Simulation.


The Numerical Certification includes plenty of new things like measure templates, usage of Standards and creation of advanced reports for user friendly validation of your design.


We are also proud to start the Optical Shape Design beta in SPEOS for NX including strong functionalities to create complex reflective surfaces easy and fast!

We are proud to start the official Optical Shape Design beta in SNX!


SNX SP2 gives the abillity to create Parabolic and optical Surface fast and easy with advanced parameters like sewing, drafting, radial and circular shift


All NX features like Trim can be used directly with the created OSD data


We will introduce with every release more features to build geometry, add advanced parameters like sharpcut off, beam spread and visualisation of groups

SPEOS 3D texture provides the possibility to replicate several millions of micro elements (density, size, orientation to surface…) to simulate optical films.


3D Texture Mapping takes benefit of NX surface modeling capabilities and can be combined with Optical Shape design

Measure templates allow to use defined measurement areas to all subsequent results for easy and fast analysis

Global rules extend the analysis capabilities by defining constants or variables linked to measurements by formulas.


Global rule results can be Numerical and used for instance to compute the difference between two flux values or Boolean to compare numerical expressions.

From measure templates, rules allows to check conformity of standard regulation or Customer specification. You can immediatly check margin for each point.

Measures and rules are directly shown on an intuitive and easy to read  HTML simulation report.

Numerical certification - Enhanced analysis with measurements



The new Point shape for measurement permits to easily get values along a section and compare them with another profile.


This measurement shape can be reviewed from the SPEOS tree and in the simulation report.


It can also be used to Optimization and Tolerance analysis targets.

Spectral maps give access to new types of magnitude to perform color measurements according to the colorimetric system.


For instance average, minimum, maximum color values over an area or along a line can directly be measured.


User can also easily observe color variations using the section panel.


Color and spectrum data as well as Color Rendering Index panels can be accessed using the line shapes.


Numerical certification - Enhanced analysis with measurements



Some requirements specify the width of iso levels to describe the target distribution.


User has the possibility to measure those widths with the new range measure available for User line shape.


The range represents the width between the first point of the line and the point at which the threshold value is found, starting from the second point.


This point coordinates can also be displayed using Range_X and Range_Y measures.



Numerical certification - Enhanced analysis with measurements



With Intensity map, Cut-off sharpness measurement is available to check conformity of low beam regulation.


Maximum value of gradient and its position can now be evaluated.


Thanks to all this new evolution, TC 4-45, “Performance Assessment Method for Vehicle Headlighting Systems“  can now be evaluated in SPEOS.
